To All The World

This blog relates to the Bible reading plan passages Matthew 24-26:46, Psalms 89-91, Proverbs 18. 

 “And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world so that all nations will hear it: then the end will come!”  Matthew 24:14  

How many times do you hear someone say Lord Jesus come quickly!” or “  I am so scared!”?  Things are sooo bad- we can see all these things daily:  wars and rumors of wars, men loving themselves more than others! Matthew 24:8 tells us these are just the beginning of the birth pains! Verse 14 tells us the key to His return is the telling of the Good News of the Gospel to all the world.  

Yes, the end is getting nearer every day, but no one knows exactly when that day will be.  (Matt. 24:36) Some find this all very unsettling, but if we know Jesus as Savior we have no reason to fear. He is our refuge and our strength and we can trust in Him. (Psalm 89:18,24; 90:1; 91:2, Proverbs 18 :10) 

“I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.” 

David tells us throughout the Psalms how amazing God is, how He is faithful and full of mercy and toward us. In Psalm 89:1 He reminds us to tell of the stories of His faithfulness, protection, healing,  provision etc. from each generation to the next generation.  

What testimony can you share about the faithfulness of God?  

  There are so many I think of:  God healed my six week old daughter during an ambulance ride to the hospital. He used that miraculous change in her condition to be an open door to witness to the EMTs that were with us, and later to reassure my daughter when her own daughter was fighting for breath.   Then there was the  day my older daughter (then aged 11) died and the name of Jesus brought her back to life!  

You may think these are spectacular but so is the daily provision of food, clothing and whatever else you may need.  When we speak of the good things God gives us daily our young ones pick up on this and begin to express their own thanksgiving for the goodness of God.  

About a month ago I was impressed to pray over my four year old grandson who lives on the other side of the globe. That weekend, unknown to me, he had a terrifying accident while playing with a cousin.  As my daughter began telling me about it, my grandson spoke up to tell me, “It is a miracle, Taeta, Jesus healed me!”  He was correct in all points, it was a miracle He came out without the need for even one stitch. This is another testimony of God’s protection & supernatural healing that will be shared from generation to generation reminding generations of God’s protection that day and for them too.   

Before you (the generations) were formed, he knew you and had a plan for each one of you.  His love will continue to be seen, acknowledged and proclaimed as long as we open our mouths!  

These testimonies open the door for many to hear of God’s protection, plan and His will to heal only if we will tell them. 

You may not have stories of the generations behind you but you can begin where you are right now!  My grandmother was the one who began exposing me to preachers in the word of faith circles.  I am very thankful for her influence in my life.  This begins with one generation, YOU can be that one!  Begin where you are today: the generations do not only mean our flesh and blood. You can begin sowing into the generations in your church, your neighborhood or where you work.    

God wants us to tell our testimonies to those who do not know Him because He desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" ( 1 Tim 2:3-4) and then the end will come. 

 As we get a revelation of the goodness of God and His faithfulness let’s be sure to share the Gospel message with boldness.  Let us say with the psalmist, “ I will sing  of the mercies of the Lord forever! The Lord is our dwelling place for all generations!” Psalm 89:1; 90:1
