Walking in Faith, Living in Freedom

10 February 2026

A apth goes off into the distance across the moors. On the path are the words 'walk by faith'

God cares not only about what we do, but who we are becoming. Romans and Psalms show us a life no longer controlled by sin, fear, or our own efforts, but led by the Spirit, rooted in faith, and shaped by God’s love. Through Jesus, we have FREEDOM, a new LIFE, and a PURPOSE.

Living in True Freedom

Romans 7 shows that we all struggle with sin. We want to do what is right, but often fail. Romans 8 tells us the good news: in Jesus, we are not condemned. We are free from sin and death and can live by the Spirit. This freedom is a GIFT, it's not something we earn. Romans 8:31 says: “If God is for us, who can be against us?” Even when we face problems, God’s plan cannot fail because he doesn't lie. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. It is a promise from God and He always keeps His promises. His love and power are greater than anything we face.

Faith, Not Perfection

Romans 9 and 10 remind us that God saves us because of His mercy, not our effort. We are made right with God by believing in Jesus, not by being perfect. Faith begins when we hear about Jesus and choose to trust Him. It’s not about doing everything perfectly; FAITH is TRUSTING God, SURRENDERING to Him, and FOLLOWING Him each day. Everyone who calls on His name will be saved. There is power, healing, and salvation in His name. His grace is greater than our mistakes.

Trusting God’s Plan

Romans 11 shows that God is FAITHFUL. He has a plan for everyone, and the plan He has for us is the best, SHAPED by His GRACE. His wisdom is beyond our understanding, and we can fully trust Him. Even when we SEE things as problems, He is working behind the scenes and will turn everything for our good. As In Psalm 19 reminds us that God also speaks through creation and His Word. Nature shows His power, care, and love, and His WORD guides our lives and shows us the right path. Psalm 20 teaches us to TRUST Him in hard times, and Psalm 21 reminds us to trust Him in victories. As we trust His Word and listen to His voice, we can be confident that what He shows or tells us is always for our best, and we can rely on Him to protect, strengthen, and lead us in every situation.

Serving God and Others

Romans 12:1–8 teaches us to GIVE our lives fully to God and use the gifts He has given us to help others, teaching, encouraging, giving, leading, or showing mercy. GIVING our lives to Jesus is the greatest gift we can offer and the start of our journey with Him. When we serve HUMBLY, the church grows strong. Because Jesus is our Shepherd, we lack nothing, and His PROMISES are always true, even if we are not SEEING them YET. Serving God and others is a natural way to live out the freedom, faith, and trust we have in Him.

Confession Prayer

I am free in Christ. I am no longer controlled by sin, fear, or guilt. I live by the Spirit and walk by faith, trusting God’s mercy. My mind is renewed by His Word, and my life is being changed. I offer myself to God and use my gifts to help others. I trust His wisdom and His plan for my life. I will finish what He called me to do. In Jesus name, Amen.
