Build God's Dream Right from Your Sofa

God’s powerful promise to those who give financially to missions is stated in 2 Corinthians 9:11:

“He will always make you rich enough to be generous at all times, so that many will thank God for your gifts which they receive from us.” 

Did you know you can build God's Dream right from your living room sofa!  You don’t even have to have a life-altering experience to do something significant for God; you can build God's Dream with your giving.

Your giving is such a powerful force.  It’s the principle of giving that governs everything in the Kingdom of God and is fundamental to the Gospel going around the world.  God needs us to be channels of His finances.  He can’t do all the things He longs to do in people’s lives without your finances.  Just think about it, while you are watching a movie, your finances are working on your behalf.

Matthew 28 tells each of us to go into all the world.  However, not all of us are called to the farthest parts of the world.  But Oswald J Smith said it best: You must either go yourself or send a substitute. 

People called to be missionaries can be your substitute and take your finances to those who will benefit the most.

Just imagine this: you may have a desire to build your dream house.  It would be foolish for you to go and buy all the tools and begin building that house with your own two hands.  There are skilled builders that have the right equipment who would do a far better job.  Your part is to find the team of people and provide the design and finances.

In the same way, God has a dream.  His dream is to see the message of His Son told to every person in every tongue, tribe, and nation.  You get the opportunity to find the missionaries and finance them to go and do the work to build God's Dream.

God has entrusted each of us with getting this Good News to everyone.  You might not be able to come here to the region where Pastor Matt and I work, but you can send people like us to go on your behalf with your finances and get God's Dream built.

My favourite verse is Romans 10:14-15:

 “But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him?  And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him?  And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?  And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent?”

When you do your part with your finances right from your sofa, and I do my part by going, together we get to see God's Dream built.
