I have always found that cars are a perfect illustration for lessons in life. Being a car lover myself, I have always felt we can incorporate many practical teachings from them, which apply to daily life, and the bible is no exception. I know many of you are wondering how an example of a mechanical machine can apply to biblical principles, but hear me out.
Acts 14:9-10 NLT
and listening as Paul preached. Looking straight at him, Paul realized he had faith to be healed. [10] So Paul called to him in a loud voice, "Stand up!" And the man jumped to his feet and started walking.
Healing is a gift from God, and what a gift it is. I thank God everyday for the price he paid for my healing, but healing doesn't happen by waiting for it. You see, the Bible tells us that Paul saw that the man had faith to be healed. Faith is the secret ingredient that releases all of God's promises, whether it be salvation, provision, or in this case healing. Healing is not received by faith alone, but it requires action on our part.
Most of you are wondering how a car applies to healing, and how we can receive it. Well, let me explain. You see, a car requires fuel to operate, without fuel I can guarantee you the car won't operate or take you to your destination. The same thing applies to healing, you will never get healed if you don't fill up your tank with faith. Without the right fuel for your car, and without faith in your tank, nothing will happen. Waiting to be healed is no different than staring at your car with no fuel in the tank, and expecting it to take you somewhere.
So what do we need to do? Well first we have to fill our spirit with the right fuel, and to do that we need to fill our spirit with the word of God, that's the perfect fuel for our faith.
Now that we have built our faith from the word of God, filling our tank with faith, is it enough to be healed? The short answer is no. Once again, there is a missing ingredient, an action is required from our part. Let's look at the verses again. Acts tells us that the first step was Paul realising that the man had faith to be healed. The second step was Paul telling the man to stand up!! You see, an action was required from the man to activate his faith. The same thing applies to cars. Even with a full tank of the right kind of fuel, your car is not going to take you to your destination unless you get in it and put that gear in drive.
So let us not just wait for healing to come to us, but let us receive the gift that God already paid for with the precious blood of Jesus. Let us fill our spirits with the word of God, let that tank be full of faith, then take action to receive our healing. Let us put that gear in drive, and get to our destination, healing!!!
Are you waiting on God for your healing? Ask yourself are you receiving the right kind of fuel for your faith? Is your tank full? Have you taken action to activate the faith in your tank? Have you put your gear in drive? Remember, God has already done everything that needs to be done for us to be healed, but it is our responsibility to fill ourselves with faith and take action to activate our faith. Keep your tanks full, and put that gear in drive!!!
