“GO” With The Power

At GoChurch we know what the “Go” stands for, and what we do is go to our world with the gospel.  Showing people the love that was poured out by Jesus Christ, through His life, death and resurrection is what we do.  Going with His love to our world not only means extreme kindness and generosity, but also demonstrating the power of God to affect people's lives.

The Apostle Paul says some simple, but profound things in 1 Corinthians 2:1-5.  The main point is that our faith, or reliance, should not be in the “wisdom of men”, but in the “power of God”.  He accomplished this by focusing his message on “Jesus Christ and Him crucified”, and “the demonstration of the power of God”, and we should follow his example when going to our world.

Paul made it clear, being careful not to create any illusions, as to what produces the power of God.  It was not from his speaking abilities, because he said, “I came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God”.  It was not because he was perfect in faith, as he said, “And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling”.  No, it was because, as he said, “I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.”

The demonstration of the Spirit and of power is what will capture the faith of those in our world, or in our sphere of influence.   Let’s have the same attitude as Paul, not focusing on our own ability, but the message and power of the One who sent us.  GO YE!
