Giving God Authority To Work His Ability In Your Life

25 September 2020

I’m sure many of us remember Bro. Hagin saying, “If you are not happy with your life, if you want life to be different for you, then pray the Ephesians prayers for at least six months.”

I would like to challenge us to pray these two prayers daily. Don’t pray them one week and then skip a week. Pray these prayers at least once a day, every single day for six months. You can pray them over yourself and others.

Notice how the Holy Spirit uses the word, ‘may’ in the Ephesian prayers. Each prayer uses the word ‘may’ 4 times.

As we pray these prayers, we are giving God permission to work in our lives by praying these very powerful and Spirit-anointed prayers.

Take a look at the different areas covered in these prayers:

Ephesians 1:15-20:

1) ...that He may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation

2) ...that you may know Him better
3) ...that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened
4) ...that you may know the hope to which He has called you

Ephesians 3:14-21

1) ...that He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being
2) ...that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith
3) ...that you may have power, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ
4) ...that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Let’s personalise these prayers and give God authority through prayer to work His ability in these 8 areas of our lives, and the lives of those we love.

*The following prayers are personalised from the NIV.

Ephesians 1:15-20

15For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. 17I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give ME the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that I may know Him better. 18I pray also that the eyes of MY heart may be enlightened in order that I may know the hope to which He has called ME, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, 19and His incomparably great power for US who believe. That power is like the working of His mighty strength, 20which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms....

Ephesians 3:14-21

14For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15from whom His whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen ME with power through His Spirit in MY inner being, 17so that Christ may dwell in MY heart through faith. And I pray that I, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that I may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

20Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all I ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within ME, 21to Him be glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen
