Prayer = God’s Spiritual Incense

Your prayers touch heaven in a very real way! Every time you pray, from the moment you do, your prayers come directly before the Lord.

Three scriptures that support this truth:

1) From this week’s reading:

“…and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.” Revelation 5:8c

2) This verse reminds of me of Acts 10 when the angel appeared to Cornelius and said,

“Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God.”

3) It also reminds me of Daniel when it says of his prayers,

^“…Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.”

Remembering that our prayers touch God in a very real way inspires us to pray more. As we pray, remember that the most powerful way to pray is to:

• Pray God’s Word.

• Pray inspired by/led by the Holy Spirit.

This Weeks Challenge: As we bring 2020 to conclusion, in the busyness of the holidays, intentionally protect extra time to pray into 2021 for your own life, and also pray for God’s plan for GoChurch.
